Exchange rate regime
Pegged to the euro (ERM II, central rate 7.46038 DKK per EUR)

Denmark is an EU member but negotiated an opt-out from the euro, and voters rejected adopting it in 2000. Instead the krone is pegged to the euro through the EU's Exchange Rate Mechanism II, at a central rate of 7.46038 kroner per euro. In practice Danmarks Nationalbank keeps it within a much narrower range than the official band allows.

That peg means EUR/DKK barely moves, so the krone's value against the dollar, pound, or yen largely tracks the euro's. Denmark's central bank sets its interest rates mainly to defend the peg, sometimes moving in step with the European Central Bank for exactly that reason.
