About Currency Converter
Currency Converter is a small, single-purpose currency conversion tool built and maintained by Joe Koppin, a software engineer. It exists because most currency converters online are either slow, cluttered with ads before you can even see a number, or quietly using a rate table that hasn't updated in a while. This one fetches current rates the moment you load the page and converts between 40 major world currencies instantly as you type.
The conversion itself runs entirely in your browser. There are no accounts, no signup, and nothing to install. The only network request the site makes on your behalf is a lookup of the current rate for the currency you've selected, never the amount you're converting, and no personal data. See the Privacy Policy for the specifics.
The Guides section goes beyond the converter itself: why the rate shown here rarely matches what your bank or card actually charges, how to avoid dynamic currency conversion abroad, how currency pegs work, and how to work out what a money transfer really costs. The Currencies section has a reference profile for every supported currency, and Popular conversions has dedicated pages for the pairs people convert most, each with notes on what drives that particular rate.
Currency Converter is part of the Ten Eleven family of free, no-signup web tools. The site is free to use and ad-supported. If it saved you a trip to a spreadsheet, a coffee is always appreciated but never required. Questions, bug reports, or feedback can go to privacy@currencyconversiononline.com.
